Escale Bleu
Founded in 1986, Escale Bleue is located in Le Tremblet, Saint-Philippe, on Reunion Island. With over 30 years of experience, they specialize in the production and preparation of vanilla. Their vanilla is grown locally in a natural environment, without the use of chemicals. The pods are harvested at full maturity after at least 9 months and then refined for 2 years to achieve their exceptional quality.
After a decade of research, Escale Bleue redefined the art of vanilla refining, introducing their unique Blue Vanilla. This innovative product has earned a place in the French Artisanal Heritage and made them one of only two companies on Reunion Island to receive the prestigious “Living Heritage Company” status. Escale Bleue has pioneered a new method of preparing vanilla pods, preserving their natural beauty, intense aroma, and enhanced flavor without dehydration or denaturation. The result is an extraordinary vanilla that stands out in both quality and taste. Marketed as “Blue Vanilla,” their product pays homage to their farming ancestors who believed a plant was “blue” when it was at its healthiest and most beautiful.
